Postgraduate Multimodal transport and logistics (MSc)

State University "Kyiv Aviation Institute"
Kyiv
Faculty of Transport and Logistic

Entrance Exam Description

During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exams that evaluate the level of study-language and basic subjects depends on speciality.
The exams can be conducted online. In order to validate the entrant’s person, exams taken remotely are recorded on video, as is the person verification process. The recording is archived for at least five years on University’s grounds and the link to that recording is available in the united base of Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

Program Structure

Semester 1 — Foundations & Core Logistics / Transport Knowledge
- Fundamentals of Transport Technologies & Multimodal Systems — you learn how different transport modes (air, road, rail, sea) work and how they can be integrated into multimodal chains.
- Transport and Logistics Systems Analysis & Design — you explore how to plan and design efficient logistics systems and transport networks.
- Cargo & Passenger Flow Management — study how goods and people are moved through multimodal systems, scheduling, coordination, handling, documentation.
- Supply‑Chain / Freight Forwarding & Documentation — learn how to organize freight forwarding, documentation, customs & cargo operations, necessary for international logistics.

Semester 2 — Operational, Management & Aviation‑Transport Logistics
- Air Transportation Logistics & Airport Operations — because the speciality is air‑transport oriented, you study how aviation logistics, airport operations, cargo/passenger air transport integrate into multimodal chains.
- Intermodal / Multimodal Transport Management & Coordination — courses on organizing and managing intermodal links: transferring between air, road, rail or sea, optimizing cost/time and reliability.
- Logistics Information Systems & Transport IT — use of information & communication technologies (IT) for managing multimodal transport, tracking, scheduling, data systems.
- Safety, Risk and Security Management — ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, security especially for air and combined transport operations.

Semester 3 — Strategy, Research & Final Project / Thesis
- International Logistics, Global Supply Chains & Trade Integration — study global supply‑chain management, international regulations, trade and cross‑border transport logistics.
- Transport & Logistics Strategy, Economics and Planning — strategic planning for transport networks, cost analysis, optimization, logistics performance, sustainability.
- Project Work / Case Studies in Multimodal Transport — practical or simulation projects designing or managing real logistic/transport flows, multimodal shipments, airport‑to‑destination chains.
- Master’s Thesis / Final Project — research or applied project: e.g. design of a multimodal transport route/network, optimization of supply‑chain logistics, or integration of air transport into multimodal logistics.

Overview

The program trains you in planning, organising and managing complex transport flows that use different transport modes — air, road, sea, rail — to deliver goods or passengers efficiently. You learn how to combine aviation transport technologies with logistics, operations, cargo & passenger handling and supply‑chain management for multimodal transport systems. The program gives both theoretical background and practical skills in transport technologies, logistics systems design, and transport management — preparing you for modern, international transport and logistics challenges.

Career Opportunities

After graduation you can work as a transport/logistics manager, multimodal‑transport coordinator, freight forwarding specialist, or supply‑chain/logistics analyst in airlines, airports, freight companies, logistics firms, or transport operators. You may also become a dispatcher, multimodal terminal administrator, transport operations planner, or work in international cargo/passenger transportation and logistics services. You could join companies that manage air, sea, road or rail transport — combining different modes — or logistic providers offering integrated multimodal services. Your skills will be relevant for global supply chains, export‑import logistics, cargo forwarding, airport logistics, and multimodal transport planning and management.
