| Entry qualification | The certificate of Completed Secondary Education is required. Compulsory entrance exam. The entry qualification documents are accepted in English (except for documents issued in Ukraine upon completion of studies at local educational institutions) . In most cases you can request a suitable transcript from your school. If this is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original. You must take the original & legalized (according to the international agreements) entry qualification documents along with you when you finally enter the university. |

Entrance Exam Description
During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exams that evaluate the level of study-language and basic subjects depends on speciality.
The exams can be conducted online. In order to validate the entrant’s person, exams taken remotely are recorded on video, as is the person verification process. The recording is archived for at least five years on University’s grounds and the link to that recording is available in the united base of Ministry of Education of Ukraine.
Program Structure
Year 1 – Foundation of Art & Design
Drawing and Painting, Composition & Color Theory, Fundamentals of Graphic Design, Technical Aesthetics, History of Art and Design, Computer Graphics (Basics), Academic Drawing & Modeling, Ukrainian / Foreign Language (as required), Introduction to Design Technologies, Measured Practice.
Students master drawing, painting, composition, color theory, and the basics of graphic design. They explore art history, develop computer graphics skills, and complete their first practical design tasks.
Year 2 – Digital Tools & Applied Design
Graphic Design Tools (advanced), 2D and 3D Computer Modeling, Form-Making & Volumetric Shaping, Fundamentals of Web and Multimedia Design, Ergonomics / Ergodesign, Materials Science in Design, Design Project Development I, Design of Subject / Product Design, Photography & Visualization, Practice (educational/project).
Training focuses on advanced graphic tools, 2D and 3D modeling, ergonomics, product design, and multimedia basics. Students begin working on real design projects and gain hands-on studio experience.
Year 3 – Specialized Design Training
Interior Design, Design of Interiors in Reconstruction & Restoration, Transport / Spatial Environment Design (depending on track), Animation & Motion Graphics, Virtual and Augmented Reality Basics, Marketing in Design, Project Management for Designers, Design Project Development II. Elective courses: New Trends in Design, Heritage Preservation in Design, Ethics & Business Communication, Professional Practice.
Learners dive deeper into interior design, animation, motion graphics, VR basics, and environment design. Courses in marketing and project management expand their professional competencies, supported by extended practical training.
Year 4 – Professional Preparation & Graduation
Advanced Interior Design / Product Design (depending on track), Multimedia & Interactive Design, Strategic Management, Modern Design Technologies, Digital Presentation & Portfolio Development, Design Research Methods, Pre-Diploma Practice, Bachelor’s Thesis Project (Final Design Project).
Students finalize their specialization through advanced studio courses, research methods, and digital presentation techniques. The program ends with pre-diploma practice and a full Bachelor’s Design Project.
Overview
The Bachelor’s program in Design at NAU provides foundational training in graphic, industrial, and visual design. Students learn composition, color theory, graphic tools, 3D modeling, and creative project development. The program combines artistic skills with modern digital technologies and practical studio work.
