Entrance Exam Description

During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results).
This is followed by an entrance exam (written and oral). The exam can be online, if in person is not possible.
Subjects of the exam: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, language of study.

Year 1

Human Anatomy; Occupational and Industrial Safety; Medical Biochemistry; Philosophy, Medical Ethics; History, Theory and Ethics of Medicine; Medical Biology; Ukrainian Language; Medical Terminology with the Basics of Latin; Anti-Corruption and Integrity.

Year 2

Medical biochemistry; Histology, cytology and embryology; Ukrainian language; Hygiene and ecology; Physiology; Social medicine, public health; Ecological medicine; Interactive language practices in medical communication; Medical psychology; Age physiology; Microbiology and virology (with the basics of immunology); Medical embryology with the basics of reproductology and teratology; Emergency hygiene; Home medical care and emergency medicine; Molecular biology; Practice: patient care in the surgical ward/children's ward/therapeutic ward.

Year 3

Pharmacology; Pathophysiology; Nutrition; Microbiology, virology (with the basics of immunology); Radiology and nuclear medicine; Propaedeutics of internal medicine; Pathomorphology; Side effects of drugs and toxicology; Clinical epidemiology and basics of vaccination; Modern methods of genetic diagnostics, cytogenetics. Practice: General surgery including nursing practice, basic medical skills in the surgical department; Propaedeutics of pediatrics including nursing practice, basic medical skills in the pediatric department; Propaedeutics of internal medicine including nursing practice, basic medical skills in the therapeutic department.

Year 4

Phthisiology; Endocrinology; Internal medicine; Industrial medical practice (professional training) internal diseases; Surgery; Industrial medical practice (professional training) surgical diseases; Emergency surgery; Pain medicine; Endocrinology and dietology; Psychosomatic medicine. Communication skills; Medical law; Forensic medicine; Pediatrics; Industrial medical practice (professional training) children's diseases; Obstetrics and gynecology; Industrial medical practice (professional training) obstetrics and gynecology department; Psychiatry, narcology; Otorhinolaryngology; Dermatology, venereology; Neurology.
Type of classes in the specified disciplines is practical.

Year 5

Internal Medicine; Infectious Diseases; Pediatrics; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology; Emergency Surgery; Radiation Medicine; Clinical Immunology and Allergology; Family Physician (Therapeutic Profile); Anesthesiology and Intensive Care; Acute and Urgent Conditions in Neurology; Physical Rehabilitation; Women's Consultation; Military field therapy; Fundamentals of neonatology; Emergency and urgent medical care; Ukrainian language.

Year 6

Internal medicine; Emergency and urgent care in the clinic of internal medicine; Industrial medical practice (professional training) in internal diseases; Endocrinology; Neurology; Phthisiology; Emergencies in surgery; Plastic and reconstructive surgery; General and special visual diagnostics; Emergencies in pediatrics; Hygiene and ecology; General practice (family medicine) including industrial medical practice in a general practice-family medicine outpatient clinic; Palliative and hospice medicine; Obstetrics and gynecology; Pediatrics with pediatric infectious diseases; Pediatric infectious diseases; Industrial medical practice in a pediatric department; Industrial medical practice (professional training) pediatric infectious diseases; Infectious diseases; Surgery, Industrial medical practice (professional training) surgical diseases; Military epidemiology; Ukrainian language; Health economics.

Overview

The objectives of the six-year Medicine program are determined by wellestablished standards of medical education and designed to reflect the unique strengths and goals of BNMU Faculty of Medicine. We aim to train medical doctors who, based on the acquisition of knowledge, professional skills, medical skills and attitude during their training, will be able to take part in activities pertaining to the functioning of the healthcare system by performing particular jobs as part of their professional commitment. Our graduates will demonstrate dedication to compassionate care, advocacy, and service. They will have both the knowledge and skills to enroll in a first and/or a second postgraduate specialist medical training program and, following a successful exam in a specialty field, will continue their career of the chosen specialty by working as specialists; in possession of the required theoretical knowledge and practical skills, they will become successful candidates for training at PhD schools.
