Entrance Exam Description
During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exam (written and oral). The exam can be online, if in person is not possible. Subjects of the exam: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, language of study.
Program Structure
Years 1–2 — Biomedical & Skills Foundations
- Basic sciences: Human Anatomy (incl. topographic; head & neck), Histology & Embryology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Medical Chemistry, Genetics, Microbiology & Immunology, Pathomorphology/Pathophysiology.
- Public health & professionalism: Hygiene & Ecology, Epidemiology, Bioethics & Medical Law, Psychology/Communication.
- Skills labs: First Aid & BLS, Clinical Skills/Simulation, Medical Informatics, Latin/Medical Terminology.
Year 3 — Pre-clinical → Clinical Transition
- Propedeutics: Internal Medicine Propedeutics, General Surgery Propedeutics, Pediatric Propedeutics, Obstetrics & Gynecology (intro).
- Diagnostics: Radiology/Imaging basics, Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics.
- Infectious Diseases (intro), Pharmacology (clinical focus), Evidence-Based Medicine.
Years 4–5 — Core Clinical Rotations
- Internal Medicine blocks (cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology, rheumatology, hematology).
- Surgery blocks (general surgery, urology, orthopedics & traumatology, neurosurgery basics).
- Women & children: Obstetrics & Gynecology; Pediatrics & Neonatology.
- Specialties: Neurology, Psychiatry, Dermatology & Venerology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT).
- Critical & community care: Anesthesiology & Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Tuberculosis/PHC, Oncology (intro).
Year 6 — Advanced Rotations, Integrated Practice & State Attestation
- Comprehensive clinical practice (internal medicine, surgery, OB/GYN, pediatrics, emergency/family medicine).
- Public Health & Management, Rehabilitation, Palliative Care (where applicable).
- State attestation and qualifying work/report per faculty rules; internship preparation (post-degree).
Continuous Components (Years 1–6)
- Language & communication: Medical English (advanced) and Ukrainian for clinical communication (history-taking, consent, patient instructions).
- Infection control & patient safety: sterilization, PPE, IPC, radioprotection.
