Entrance Exam Description

During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exam (written and oral). The exam can be online, if in person is not possible. The Exam will consist of subjects from your high school and will test your basic knowledge of these subjects along with a english proficiency exam.

International Public Law (intro); EU Law (intro); Human Rights (basics)
Moot/Advocacy Workshop I

Year 3 — Business, property, human rights & specialization (II)
Civil Law II (Obligations, Property, Contracts); Criminal Law II (Special Part)
Commercial / Business Law; Commercial (Economic) Procedure

Continuous components (Years 1–4)

Language & communication: Legal English I–II (advanced terminology) and Ukrainian for legal communication (history-taking, client interviews, drafting basics)

Skills: case analysis, legal reasoning, negotiation & mediation basics, moot-court practice

Assessment: exams, essays/case briefs, oral pleadings, clinic work, and thesis/qualification defense

Overview

The program that builds a solid foundation in legal theory and practical skills for international students. Core subjects include Theory of State & Law, Roman/Comparative Law, Constitutional, Civil & Criminal Law and Procedure, Administrative, Commercial/Business, Labor, Tax, Human Rights, EU Law, and Public/Private International Law, plus legal writing & research. Training features moot-court/advocacy practice, a legal clinic/internship, and electives such as arbitration, compliance, IT/Data Protection, and migration law. Students also receive Legal English and basic Ukrainian for professional communication.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Law (Bachelor’s) program at Uzhhorod National University typically start as legal assistants/paralegals, contracts or documentation specialists, compliance/KYC analysts, or court/administrative clerks in law firms, companies, NGOs, and public institutions. Skills in legal drafting, case analysis, and EU/international law also fit PR/communications and project roles on international programs. Many continue to an LL.M. or professional certifications to access attorney-track careers—final licensure depends on the rules of the country where they plan to practice.
