Entrance Exam Description

During the selection process we examine the competency of the applicant in two ways:
The faculty decides about the eligibility of the applicant by examining the documents of previous studies (degree, subject, results). This is followed by an entrance exams that evaluate the level of study-language and basic subjects depends on speciality.
The exams can be conducted online. In order to validate the entrant’s person, exams taken remotely are recorded on video, as is the person verification process. The recording is archived for at least five years on University’s grounds and the link to that recording is available in the united base of Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

Program Structure

Semester 1 – Foundations of Musical Art
The first semester builds a strong foundation in musical knowledge, performance, and appreciation of music history.
- Music Theory and Harmony – understanding the structure of music and advanced theory concepts.
- History of Music and Musical Culture – studying the development of musical traditions and styles.

- Practice I – solo and ensemble performance with individual guidance.

Semester 2 – Advanced Performance and Pedagogy
This semester develops both professional performance skills and pedagogical techniques, preparing students to teach or perform at a high level.
- Instrument or Vocal Mastery II – advanced technique for your instrument or voice.
- Pedagogy of Musical Education – teaching methods, lesson planning, and student mentoring.
- Music Analysis and Interpretation – exploring expression, style, and artistic interpretation.

Semester 3 – Specialization and Creative Practice
Students focus on their personal specialization, collaborative performance, and exploring contemporary musical trends.
- Ensemble Performance / Chamber Music – working with groups to develop collaborative skills.
- Contemporary Music Practice – modern compositions, styles, and experimental techniques.
- Electives – such as music composition, conducting, music technology, or performance psychology.

Semester 4 – Professional Practice and Master’s Thesis
The final term emphasizes real-world experience and completing a major artistic or research project, preparing students for professional work in music, education, or cultural organizations.
- Professional Musical Practice – performances, concerts, or teaching internships.
- Master’s Thesis / Final Project – a research project, recital, or combined artistic presentation demonstrating mastery in musical art.

Overview

This program helps students become skilled musicians and music educators. It combines practical performance training with theoretical knowledge of music, teaching methods, and artistic interpretation.
Students learn to perform solo or in ensembles, develop their creativity, and gain professional skills for work in music schools, colleges, and cultural institutions. The program also provides opportunities to explore music production, artistic management, and leadership in concerts, festivals, and other music events. Through this program, students receive both hands-on experience and professional guidance, preparing them for a successful career in music, education, and the arts.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of this program can work as music teachers or lecturers, sharing their knowledge and inspiring students in schools, colleges, and universities. They can build careers as professional performers, playing solo, in ensembles, choirs, or orchestras. Some graduates become conductors or choral directors, leading musical groups and organizing performances. Others work in music production, artistic direction, or event management, planning concerts, festivals, and cultural projects.
Graduates may also pursue careers as music therapists or coordinators of music programs, using music to promote wellbeing and community engagement. Additionally, some choose to become independent musicians or freelance artists, developing their own creative projects and artistic careers.
